The National Archives, the government entity that preserves public records, had to go to Mar-A-Lago, the residence of former President Donald Trump, to retrieve 15 boxes of presidential records that Trump allegedly took irregularly.
These documents are protected under the Presidential Records Act which requires that they be kept in the custody of the national archives.
