In the ridges of the low mountain ranges and in open areas of the Alps, there should be hurricane-like gusts of up to 110 kilometers per hour, and in the higher areas of the Alps hurricane gusts of between 120 and 160 kilometers per hour.

In addition, the meteorologists predict snow and smoothness in the mountains.

During the day there should be between 5 and 10 centimeters of fresh snow in the low mountain range and up to 20 centimeters in higher areas of the Bavarian Forest.

According to the forecast, it should also snow around 15 centimeters in the Bavarian Forest and up to 40 centimeters in the Alps, depending on the location.

Snowdrifts are likely in the higher mountains.

Weather News Bavaria: Munich threatens heavy gusts of wind – snowfall in the east

The rest of Bavaria is colored orange on the DWD warning map.

For the city of Munich, for example, there is an official warning of severe gusts of wind.

This applies from Sunday, 12 p.m. to midnight.
