WWK Volleys Herrsching take revenge with a 3-0 win against Lüneburg for the KO Cup

Herrsching - The WWK Volleys Herrsching can also win in the Audi Dome.

After they went empty-handed in the main round in the large Munich hall, coach Max Hauser's men continued their successful streak in the intermediate round outside of the home Nikolaushalle.

The team from Ammersee celebrated a clear 3:0 (25:22, 25:19, 25:22) home win against SVG Lüneburg. 

"We're currently serving very well - of course that also makes block work easier," said Philipp Schumann, explaining a recipe for success for Herrschinger, who also showed the necessary wit against the north Germans, which also contributed to the compensation against SVG for the end in the cup succeeded.

Because of the latter, the Lüneburgers also did without their top scorer.

From a 15:15, the hosts made a 18:15 lead, but it didn't last long because Lüneburg equalized again at 21:21.

In the final phase of the round, however, the people from Herrsching proved to be quicker in thought and action, so that they finished 25:22.

In the second round, the WWK Volleys got off to a good start.

After the 6:4 the guests countered with a strong phase.

Only after 15:14 did the hosts get the SVG back under control.

A serve series by Luke Herr gave the Herrschingers a five-point lead, which they didn't give up until 25:19.

With a 2:0 lead in the set, the WWK Volleys acted calmly in the third round, even if Lüneburg remained at eye level for a long time.

Schumann heralded the home side's final spurt with his ace to make it 19:18.

before Herr put the lid on the 25:22 match win with a service winner.

With the third win in the third game of the intermediate round, the Hauser team is now within striking distance of the SVG, which still has a three-point cushion due to the point handicap from the first half of the season.

On Saturday (8 p.m.) Herrschinger can already make up for this deficit in the second leg in Lüneburg.
