Ludwig Reinbold (34) was caught with four grams of cocaine - the Munich District Court then sentenced him to a fine of 72,000 euros.
Does he now lose his license as a host?
The district administration department has to decide on this - and is now giving initial insights.
Munich – The scandal surrounding Wiesn host Ludwig Reinbold (34): He bought four grams of cocaine from a drug dealer at the end of 2017.
Immediately in front of the Franziskaner inn that his family runs.
The district court tried Reinbold in Munich and sentenced the landlord to a total fine of 72,000 euros.
Lucky for Reinbold: Because the penalty is just below the criminal record limit.
Theoretically he can keep his license as a restaurateur, which would be unlikely as a convicted drug offender.
But: His drug problem, which became public in court, speaks against it.
A hair sample from the end of 2020 documented “intensive drug use”, as prosecutor Jakob Schmidkonz announced.
Cocaine and the fashion drug MDMA were found in Reinbold's blood.
The values were "absurdly" high, said Schmdkonz.
Munich: The KVR must now decide whether Reinbold will lose his gastro license
Is Reinbold losing his license now?
The district administration department has to decide that.
Spokesman Johannes Mayer says: "As soon as we have the files and the reasons for the judgment of the criminal proceedings, we will decide on the further steps." In principle, the following applies: According to § 4 Para. 1 No. 1 of the Restaurant Act, the granting of a restaurant license must be refused or to revoke a permit “if facts justify the assumption that the innkeeper does not have the reliability required for the business.” The law mentions alcohol dependence as a standard example of unreliability.
According to the court, this is the case with Ludwig Reinbold - even intensive consumption was proven with him.

Landlords in Munich: 60 restaurateurs were initiated in 2021
KVR spokesman Mayer says: “In 2021, warnings were issued or revocation and refusal procedures were initiated in a total of 60 cases against innkeepers.” This fate could soon befall Ludwig Reinbold.
It will also be decisive whether the judiciary increases his sentence.
The Munich I public prosecutor's office has already appealed - in the process the prosecution had already demanded 160 daily rates for Reinbold, in which case he would have to pay 128,000.
More serious would be the clear criminal record - it could lead to the final withdrawal of his gastro license...
