The Homs Directorate of Education has taken a number of measures as part of the (My Strength is in My Education) campaign to encourage parents to enroll their children in schools designated for teaching the category (B) curriculum.

In statements to SANA’s reporter, Walid Marei, Director of Homs Education, explained that with the beginning of the second semester, the Ministry of Education launched the “My Strength in My Education” campaign, the category B curriculum, with the aim of helping children who have dropped out or who have dropped out of school to return to school.

He pointed out that the incentive measures are carried out through distributing awareness brochures and holding meetings with parents and students, indicating that 8 schools have been opened to teach the curriculum (B), including 3 schools in the areas of Palmyra, Talbiseh and Al-Mushrifa.

Nisreen Al-Kurdi, director of the Martyr Abdul Basit Al-Akari School, explained that since the campaign began, more than 10 children have been returned to school, and the number is increasing.

Teacher Eman Saliba, a teacher for Curriculum B, indicated that the curriculum includes information in mathematics, reading, science, and English, and identifies individual differences between children. She said: We, as teachers, work to intensify lessons giving lessons and make use of the largest possible time with students.

Saeed Khalaf Al-Saeed said, “My children missed school for a period of 6 years due to the conditions of the war that prompted us to go to Lebanon. As soon as we returned, and with the launch of the “Education is in my strength” campaign, my children returned to school and I am very happy that they will make up for what they lost.”

The child, Aryam Al-Essa, said, “4 years have been cut off from school as a result of the war conditions, and now I am continuing my education and I will do my best to be one of the best,” while the child Abdul Hadi Bayraktar called on the children who had dropped out to return to school and make up for what they had missed.
