The Lattakia team for Roman wrestling and freestyle won eight medals during its participation in the Republic Championship for juniors, which was hosted by the city of Aleppo recently.
In the Romanian wrestling competitions, Nabil Khaled Nasser won the silver medal with a weight of 92 kg, and the bronze medals were won by Muhammad Saeed (45 kg), Obada Heish (60 kg), Muhammad Adib (65 kg), Khader Qarran (80 kg), and Abdul Rahman Ajil (110 kg).
In freestyle wrestling, the medals were limited to two bronzes, which were won by Ahmed Qasura, with a weight of 65 kg, and Muhammad Sankari, with a weight of 110 kg.
In a statement to SANA, Khaled Hamdi, a member and supervisor of the Lattakia Football Association, said: "The results of the Lattakia team are good and we expected the best in the singles competitions," noting that the injuries suffered by the team's players affected their results and ranking in the tournament.
It is noteworthy that the Lattakia national team ranked sixth in the overall standings of the championship after Damascus, Aleppo, Daraa, the Central Police and Homs, while Idlib came seventh, Deir Ezzor eighth, Quneitra ninth, and Hasaka tenth.
