(ANSA) - SAN DEMETRIO NE 'VESTINI, 08 FEB - In a village in Abruzzo, an old house awaiting post-earthquake reconstruction is used as a recording studio and in full pandemic, amidst the difficulties of international travel, it becomes the fulcrum of an artistic triangulation with Berlin and London.

In this context, 'Viva Lion Football Club' was born, a themed disc, 10 songs on 10 world football champions, from Pele to Totti, from George Best to Maradona, to be released on 10 February on digital platforms for Primrose / Flipper Music.

Viva Lion is the stage name of the musician Daniele Cardinale, author of 6 songs from the Sky series on Francesco Totti "Speravo de morì prima" (2021).

After this series,

Fabio Di Bari of Flipper Music commissions Viva Lion to produce a record on football and a more punk-rock work than his indie-folk genre is born.

After the lockdown he retires from Rome to San Demetrio ne 'Vestini (L'Aquila), where he has origins and home, to find inspiration.

The disc was entirely recorded in Abruzzo, in a small house that has been awaiting reconstruction for over 12 years and where two other local musicians, Davide Sablone and Adriano Milone, had built a small recording studio.

They will be hosting Viva Lion, recording and playing guitar, bass and drums on some songs.

Next to the studio is the house of Viva Lion's grandfather, Orlando Cardinale, who emigrated to Nice, jazz musician and trumpet player at the Monte Carlo Casino.

After recording, the record flew to Berlin for mixing with producer Federico Coderoni to then stop in London, for mastering done by Canadian artist Jonah Falco, drummer of the punk band Fucked Up.

"It was a way to put this place at the center of an international collaboration. I played in the United States and Europe, but if there hadn't been the pandemic, I wouldn't have made it to the adventure of moving to Abruzzo," says Viva Lion.

At the beginning of the Covid era, many experts had spoken of villages as places to live healthier.

Today the words remain and the concrete facts for the rebirth of the inland areas are lacking.

As time and opportunity go by, someone equips themselves.
