Industrial accident in North Point.
At around 3 am, it was reported that a male worker was repairing the escalator near Exit B1 of North Point MTR Station.
During this period, the palm of his right hand was accidentally wrapped by the handrail tape, and he was pulled towards the escalator and unable to move.
The fire department rushed to the scene and rescued the trapped worker with tools. Fortunately, he was still awake and his arm was intact, but his palm was injured.
The ambulance crew provided first aid on the spot for the worker and was sent to the hospital for treatment.
The police classified the case as an "industrial accident" and later handed it over to the relevant departments for investigation and follow-up.
Police said they received a report from a staff member of MTR North Point Station at 3:29 a.m. that the palm of a 58-year-old worker surnamed Liang Nan was suspected of being pinched by an escalator.
Rescuers arrived at the scene, and Liang Nan was soberly sent to the East District Mrs. Youde Nethersole Hospital for treatment.
After preliminary investigation, it is believed that when Liang was repairing the escalator, his right palm was accidentally pinched by the elevator parts.
The case is listed as "industrial accident with someone injured".
