The new infections are increasing continuously in the Freising district.

In addition to negative records, there is also good news.

District

– The Omikron wave has been rolling across Germany with force for weeks.

In the district of Freising, too, the number of infections is climbing to levels that were unimaginable in previous waves.

However, there is also good news in connection with the constant new negative records.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

"For a few days now, the 7-day incidence has been above 2000. In some cases, the Freising Health Department reported more than 500 new infections per day, sometimes even 900," reports district office spokesman Robert Stangl.

“More than 7,000 district citizens are currently in isolation after a positive test.

It is inevitable that nursing homes and accommodation for asylum seekers will also be affected.”

149 infections in senior and disabled facilities

The district office is currently reporting 81 corona-positive people who live in 18 different accommodations for asylum seekers.

A total of 218 residents are in quarantine as contact persons.

The old people's and disabled homes in the district are currently reporting 71 infected residents and 78 infected employees.

"In this context, it is very gratifying that almost all affected residents come through the infection with no or only slight symptoms," emphasized District Administrator Helmut Petz at the most recent situation briefing of the management group for civil protection, at which all the organizations involved in the fight against the pandemic are sitting at the table .

"This shows that our vaccination strategy is working."
