Many EU countries are currently relaxing their entry rules.
Now a popular summer travel destination is following suit and relaxing measures for travelers from the EU.
Due to the omicron wave, many European countries initially tightened their corona measures to slow the spread of the contagious variant.
In the meantime, however, many EU countries are relaxing their rules again, as hospital occupancy rates have not increased in many places despite Omikron.
At the same time, the EU Commission has recently recommended that the digital Covid certificate should be sufficient for travel in the EU.
As a result, many countries have withdrawn their tightening, so that entry is easier again for vaccinated, recovered and tested people.
Portugal has now also decided to withdraw a few measures.
What now applies to travelers:
Portugal vacation with relaxed entry rules possible
Since Monday (February 7), those who have
been vaccinated and those who have recovered have been able to enter Portugal again without an additional test with the EU’s digital Covid certificate
.
This is what it says in a published government decision, as reported by the Tagesschau.
A complete vaccination or recovery must not have been more than six months ago.
Unvaccinated persons are still required to submit a negative PCR test that is no more than 72 hours old or a negative rapid antigen test that is no more than 24 hours old.
Previously, rapid antigen tests were valid for up to 48 hours, as reported by
Euronews
.
The electronic entry registration (Passenger Locator Card) must continue to be made by all travelers.
