Vaccination against covid-19 began in Chile with a second booster dose, or fourth dose, for people over 55 years of age.
The vaccination process with the fourth dose, which began on January 10 with health personnel and immunocompromised people, will now be extended to people 55 years of age or older and who have received their first booster dose until on August 15, 2021.
The free application of the fourth dose of vaccines begins in Chile
In Futrono, in the Los Ríos region, President Sebastián Piñera took his fourth dose as he was considered by the official calendar and called on the population not to lower their guard at this time of the pandemic.
Chile exceeded this Monday for the fifth consecutive day more than 30,000 new daily cases.
“We hope that this wave of omicron, which is at its highest levels in Chile, will soon, very soon begin to fall and allow us to better recover our lives, our life projects and our dreams,” Piñera assured.
Who in Chile can be vaccinated with the fourth dose?
According to the calendar reported by the Chilean Ministry of Health, between February 7 and 13 it will be the turn of the fourth dose for:
People over 55 years of age who have received their first booster dose by August 15, 2021.
Health officials who have received their first booster dose by October 10, 2021.
