Spring is coming to Germany: weather expert Dominik Jung expects temperatures of up to 15 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

Is winter already over?

Munich – In the night from Sunday to Monday (February 7th) storm “Roxana” caused chaos in Germany.

Strong gusts of wind, winter thunderstorms and icy roads resulted in damage and accidents in many places.

Temperatures were around freezing.

But now the weather* seems to be slowly but surely moving towards spring.

Comparatively high temperatures are forecast for the coming days.

Especially with regard to the previous year.

Weather in Germany: temperatures up to 15 degrees expected

Because the night of February 8th to 9th, 2021 was icy.

At that time, according to the weather

portal wetter.net,

up to minus 26 degrees Celsius were measured in Germany.

In the coming days, the opposite is now the case.

The German Weather Service (DWD) predicts temperatures in the south of up to 14 degrees Celsius for Wednesday (February 9).

Graduate meteorologist Dominik Jung even expects up to 15 degrees Celsius.

Is this already the end of winter this year in large parts of Germany?

Weather expert warns of "rapidly increasing" storm potential: "The death of every winter"

Jung is certain: "There will be no more lowland winters in Germany in February." He explained this to the

wetter.net

portal .

According to the weather expert, there will be “very high probability” no more white landscapes and permafrost in the lowlands this month.

His forecast*: "It could be one of the ten warmest winters since 1881." Only on Friday (February 11) could there still be sleet, sleet and even brief winter thunderstorms.

According to Jung, the storm potential “will increase rapidly again” in the coming week.

He speaks of "two or even three storms" that could hit Germany.

"It's still unclear how violent it will be," explains the weather * expert.

"Mostly there are gusts of wind up to severe gusts of wind, in the high altitudes and at the sea hurricane-like gusts would also be possible.

The classic mild western weather conditions are back," said Jung.

Lots of wind* and mild air.

The verdict of the qualified meteorologist: "That's the death of every winter."
