The initiators of the citizens' initiative hand over a report to Mayor Michael Grasl.

They demand that the senior citizens' home be built smaller.

Münsing – “We simply want smaller buildings to be built.

We feel obliged to the around 430 citizens who have signed it," says Alexandra Theiss, one of the initiators of the citizens' petition for a reduction in the size of the retirement home planned in Ambach.

As reported, Theiss and her comrades-in-arms gave Mayor Michael Grasl a report in which three experts came to different numbers than the community.

After a recalculation, this assumes 4784 square meters of built-up area on the Wiedemann property.

The "Board of Trustees for Living in Old Age" is planning an area sealing of 5060 square meters.

The request of the supporters of the citizens' initiative to build no larger than before would be fulfilled in this way.

The experts commissioned by Alexandra Theiss and Anatol Regnier come to the conclusion that 4,439 square meters in the existing building and 5,190 square meters in the project are overbuilt.

That would be 17 percent more.

The municipality's data was apparently not based on the Building Utilization Ordinance (BauNVO), but "freely chosen methods" were used, write the initiators.

In the opinion of their experts, the floor area should be determined correctly by applying the applicable law, i.e. according to Section 19 of the BauNVO.

"We ask the community to arrange for rescheduling that will fulfill the municipal council's resolution on the citizens' initiative," says the letter to Grasl.

Münsing's mayor has promised to have the numbers checked by experts.

He is open to a subsequent round table, as requested by the initiators.

Alexandra Theiss also emphasizes: "We don't want to achieve our goal in an aggressive way, but in a communicative way." TANJA LÜHR
