Ottenhofen's forest kindergarten has become a victim of vandals.
A window was smashed and a camera stolen.
Ottenhofen
– It is probably worse than previously thought: At the meeting of the municipal council, Mayor Nicole Schley (SPD) only briefly reported under the item “Status reports” that there had been a break-in in the forest kindergarten’s imp wagon.
She has lodged a complaint with the police.
According to her, the perpetrators, who were still at large, smashed a window and got into the car that way.
There was probably a celebration then.
The head of the town hall suspected people behind it whose New Year's Eve celebrations had been thoroughly excessive - the burglary was discovered on January 2nd.
Schley initially wanted to keep the ball flat with the municipal council, even though it was already known that a camera had been taken.
Windows smashed, SLR camera stolen
Now not only is the damage significantly higher, but there is also more trouble.
The camera is a very valuable device belonging to a caregiver, namely a Canon SLR camera, and according to Schley's report in the official and newsletter, there has now been "considerable property damage that the community is left with".
The municipal administration announced that the police recorded the burglary and secured evidence that is currently being evaluated.
According to a report by the head of the kindergarten, Yolinda Bauer, the team managed to keep the annoying incident from affecting the children so much.
"The supervisors cleared everything away very quickly, and they were probably able to explain the broken pane to the children." The local newspaper wanted to know what such a crime would do to the children, for whom the kindergarten is a bit of a home and protected space is.
However, the manager was able to give the all-clear here, and the members of the team had it well under control.
Broken glass, butts, beer bottles and other party signs after the weekend
But the employees have to keep more things under control: the area is increasingly littered over the weekends.
Mayor Schley reacted in the official and newsletter with complete incomprehension: "I don't know: Can you take your rubbish with you and not make a fire in the children's morning circle?"
The mayor also makes it clear that, in principle, only children who are registered there have access to the forest kindergarten.
The pedagogical concept deliberately dispenses with a fence.
If children played there and didn't destroy anything, nobody would say anything.
"Unfortunately, on Monday mornings, there are often broken glass, butts, beer bottles and other traces of celebrations around the car, which the caregivers and the children then have to collect." Bauer even confirmed an increasing trend here to the local newspaper.
Video surveillance as a solution?
Schley appeals to the public to keep an eye on the area and to report any anomalies.
Video surveillance there has probably already been discussed.
In any case, when asked about this, Bauer was initially only able to say that such monitoring could raise legal problems.
A final decision would have to be left to the municipal administration anyway.
Schley's position on this subject could not be obtained due to illness.
