Ottobeuren – Susanne Vonier has been working in the healthcare sector for 27 years: She is a trained nurse with 35 years of professional experience and is the owner/operator of the Hafner Villa nursing home in Ottobeuren.

The KURIER talked to her.

Why do you see the care of those in need of care at risk?

Operator Susanne Vonier has initiated her own antibody study.

According to this, around 65 percent of the residents have developed sufficient antibodies.

Fromier:

“Caring for those in need of care, whether outpatient or inpatient, has been difficult to shoulder for many years due to the existing shortage of care.

The situation has worsened due to the corona crisis and the planned regulation of compulsory vaccination in the health care system.

I get five to ten requests for a care place or short-term care place every day.

The relatives and employees of the social services of clinics and rehabilitation facilities are downright desperate when searching and reach their limits.

It is particularly tragic when relatives are unable to carry out important, planned operations because they cannot ensure the necessary care for relatives in need of care.

More and more facilities have to resort to temporary staff or reduce beds.

This cannot be a solution for the future!

And that's why you think compulsory vaccination in health care is fatal?

Fromier:

"I don't think it matters what I personally think of the usefulness of compulsory vaccination.

In this context, the question is much more what can the vaccine actually do and what will it do for the healthcare system?

Let's briefly review the last year.

We were presented with four vaccines that are still conditionally approved by politicians and their experts, who were presented as so-called 'game changers' of the pandemic.

All were presented as invariably safe, effective, and without major side effects or long-term effects.

Twice 'Piksen' and the world is fine again and because the vaccines protect so well, we all still wear masks and keep our distance from each other!

Interestingly, only the so-called mRNA vaccines are currently prioritized.

We have now come to the need for a third vaccination and more doses of vaccine have been put in the room as absolutely necessary.

In my professional environment alone, I currently know five people who have been vaccinated twice and are also 'boostered'.

Nevertheless, they fell ill with the corona variant omicron and can infect their fellow human beings.”

So you doubt the effectiveness of the vaccine?

Fromier:

"Omicron is demonstrably more contagious, but the courses are much more harmless.

This can be seen very clearly from the current high incidence and the constantly falling, low hospitalization rate.

I would say that from vaccine breakthroughs initially played down by politicians, we have now arrived at a clear vaccine failure.

Most people do not realize or ignore the fact that the Omikron variant generally shows slight progressions, whether unvaccinated, vaccinated or boosted.

Conclusion: The vaccine does not contribute to a decisive immunization and even with a vaccination rate of 100 percent, sterile herd immunity would obviously not be achievable.

Under these circumstances, compulsory vaccination can no longer be justified and, in my view, is obsolete.

What do you accuse the politicians of?

Fromier:

“Politicians and the media have been spreading fears for many months, driving people into a real panic.

The politicians show no way to overcome or calm down, which would actually be their task.

I am concerned that part of our society will survive this trauma unscathed.

Incidentally, there is not only fear of illness, but many other issues such as existential fears, social isolation or loss of the rule of law.

In a liberal society, it is also unacceptable for politicians or experts who actually work on behalf of the people to determine which fears are right and which are wrong.

People who are critical of the new vaccination also need to be heard.

In my life I have received many vaccinations,

these conventional vaccines had an average development time of 10 to 15 years.

These new vaccines were developed in just nine months.

In the specialist information published by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), you can officially read that there are no studies on cancer risks or possible gene damage.

To our great astonishment, there is no data available on long-term damage or long-term effects!

No attention is paid to these things and they are not communicated.”

What do you want from politics?

Vonier:

"I would welcome a fundamental de-escalation and calming down of the population.

Downright martial positions and statements, as well as the clear exclusion of different opinions, must stop immediately.

I would recommend Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach a clear apology to the people in the healthcare sector.

He had repeatedly and loudly attacked them because they did not want to be vaccinated for various reasons.

He even publicly questioned whether these people were even suitable for their job.

But what we all know for sure is that throughout the pandemic, these caregivers have been good enough to be there for anyone in need, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, non-stop!”

In November 2020 you had an infection with SARS-CoV-2 in your facility.

What can you tell us about your experiences from this time?

Fromier:

“We survived the wave of infections well.

The mortality rate in my home was no different from previous years.

The big challenge during these weeks was the lack of staff due to ordered quarantines.

Apart from a few cases, the majority of those infected in the home had mild and unproblematic flu symptoms and got through the illness very well.

The few cases with problems had multiple previous illnesses that would also have been problematic with influenza or a bacterial respiratory infection.

It seems that the whole concept of natural immunity is largely ignored in politics, even though there are scientific papers looking at over 100 studies on natural immunity against COVID-19.

The evidence available today shows

that natural immunity is real and enduring, better than the immunity conferred by the vaccine.

Because natural immunity covers the entire SARS-CoV-2 virus and the vaccine only focuses on the spike protein.

Based on our comprehensive, in-house antibody study, we at Hafner Villa can assume that we already have an immunization rate of around 65 percent.

We will continue this study.”

It sounds as if you doubt not only the effectiveness of the vaccination, but also the figures presented to us by politicians?

Vonier:

“Did you know that an average of 2,600 people die in Germany every day?

In nursing homes alone, around 900 people are affected every day – i.e. around a third.

From the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 to October 2021 (20 months), 95,882 people died in Germany with or from Corona (source: RKI) - that means 157 per day in connection with the virus.

According to the RKI, 85 percent of those who died were over the age of 79, which in turn roughly corresponds to the average life expectancy in Germany.

That might show you the real relationship to the pandemic.”

What was the most difficult thing for you as the owner and operator of your nursing home?

Fromier:

“The greatest difficulties arose from quarantine orders from the health department.

All residents then had to stay in their room, regardless of whether they were healthy or infected.

Understandably, this caused great displeasure and sadness among the symptom-free, recovered and negatively tested residents.

An elderly resident aptly said: 'After all, the people in the home don't have any time to give away.

At my age, quality of life is more important to me than quantity of life'.

For my employees, working with protective clothing and FFP2 masks, frequent twelve-hour days with sometimes heavy physical work, hardly any free weekends, headaches, dizziness and high blood pressure was hardly bearable.

The stresses were in stark contrast to the previously applicable rules and regulations (occupational safety) to protect employees.

The basic task of our facility, namely the meaningful 'existence' for our residents, could almost no longer be lived.

It is hard to imagine how many home residents in Germany died lonely and alone during this time without any support from their families or nursing staff.

The question may be asked: is this really about protecting people and health?”
