A German participant is still being sought for the ESC 2022.

The viewers should determine him or her.

A jury has already determined the candidates for the preliminary decision.

Munich - It is probably one of the most important and largest music competitions in the world.

The Eurovision Song Contest, ESC for short, has been inspiring many people around the world since 1956.

This year the competition will take place for the 66th time - on May 14th in Turin.

In 2021, the Italian band Måneskin won with their song "Zitti e buoni"*, which is why the competition will be held in Italy this year.

It is still not clear who will be running for Germany.

But there are suspicions.

A final decision will not be made until March 4th, when the audience will determine the representative for Germany in a final round.

As early as Thursday, February 10, those responsible for ARD will present the candidates for the "German final" in a digital press conference.

A jury of experts had previously viewed a total of 944 applications and selected various individual artists, duos and bands.

The artists as well as the ARD entertainment and NDR program director Frank Beckmann, the head of the ARD team for the ESC at the NDR, Andreas Gerling and Alexandra Wolfslast, head of delegation for the German contribution at the ESC, will be present at the press conference.
