In the summer of 2020, the police find a dead man in a lonely forest.

The man is badly beaten.

When his wife and three acquaintances are questioned, a brutal crime is revealed - the trial is now over.

Dresden – They maltreated and killed a 38-year-old in the forest because his wife wanted to “get rid” of him: the Dresden Regional Court sentenced two women and two men from Grossenhain (Meissen district) to life imprisonment on Wednesday for murder.

At the end of the trial, which had been running since May 2020, the jury saw it as proven that a 33-year-old woman instigated her then-boyfriend and a well-known couple to attempt to murder her estranged husband in the summer of 2020 and that they implemented the plan together.

The guilt of the 33-year-old and a 53-year-old weighs particularly heavily, said the presiding judge Herbert Proels.

This finding makes a release from prison after 15 years almost impossible.

The accused took the decision motionless, the verdicts are not yet final.

The judges are convinced that the 33-year-old wanted to get rid of her husband quickly.

The mother of four, Stefanie W., who was pregnant with twins from another man, didn't want the year of separation - and didn't want to collect her ex's death benefit insurance of 17,000 euros.

The Chamber therefore assumed greed to be the motive.

Instigated by W., the Germans kidnapped the 38-year-old on June 13, 2020. Their son served as a decoy.

W., her friend Stefan B., Andreas R. and Anke F. drove with their victim to a lonely wooded area with the intention of killing him, where the two men tormented him for days.

They kicked and hit him and initially left him badly injured, Pröls described what happened.

During the night and the two days that followed, the men and W. then returned several times and, among other things, threw heavy stones at the defenseless man.

The chamber assumes that W. finally stabbed him, although she didn't want to get her hands dirty.

But the man was probably dead by then, said Prols.

According to the forensic medicine report, the 38-year-old suffered polytrauma due to the many fractures and died in agony after one or two days - the exact time of death could not be determined in court either.

The body was found on June 19th.

"It was not a spontaneous act," said the presiding judge.

W. manipulated the three co-defendants who carried out the crime together.

He spoke of an “event marked by cruelty”.

The 38-year-old was "knowingly and without empathy killed and tortured to death".

"It was clear from the start that he would not survive and would not be killed." W. said several times during the planning: "He has to go, he can't come back".

During the first interrogation of those involved, the 30-year-old, who believed himself to be W.'s new partner and protector at the time of the crime, confessed to the crime.

He had also testified in the process that had been running since May 2020 and only then found out in court that W. had long been engaged to another man and was pregnant with twins.

The defendants, all unskilled, who worked as cleaners or in agriculture, have been in custody since then.

The decision of the jury went beyond the demands of the public prosecutor's office.

She too had demanded life imprisonment for murder and kidnapping for instigator W. and the 53-year-old, for B. 14 years and ten months in prison.

For the 30-year-old, the sentence should be reduced because of his educational help.

The defense had each demanded acquittal for W. and B., among other things because of procedural errors, pleaded for B. to twelve years because of his early testimony and for F. to three years - because of dangerous bodily harm and deprivation of liberty.
