At Tesla, the recalls are piling up.

Now the e-car pioneer has to return another 27,000 vehicles to the workshop.

Palo Alto - The electric car pioneer Tesla has to recall vehicles again because of software problems.

Almost 27,000 cars are being ordered into the workshops in the USA because a software error can lead to problems with defrosting the windshield, as announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Tesla said it would update and fix the problem.

Tesla: Not the first recall due to software problems

At the beginning of February, Tesla already had a large electric car recall in the USA.

Back then, software errors on the seat belt were the problem.

817,143 vehicles of the S, X, 3 and Y series with model years from 2017 to 2022 were affected, according to documents that the US traffic regulator NHTSA published on its website on Thursday.

According to this, a software problem can lead to the failure of a warning tone that is intended to alert drivers when the car is started that they are not wearing their seat belts.

Accidents in connection with the defect are not yet known.

And it seems like Tesla's recall cases are piling up.

At the beginning of the year, almost 700,000 vehicles had to be temporarily withdrawn from traffic in the USA and China.

In 356,000 affected cars, the reversing camera wiring harness could be damaged by opening and closing the trunk lid.

This could cause the camera to fail.

The information became known shortly before the turn of the year through several media reports.

Tesla: 119,000 cars recalled for unexpected hood opening

In addition, there were 119,000 Model S cars from 2014 to 2021 in the USA, according to information dated December 21. There is a risk of the hood opening unexpectedly if a locking mechanism is released.

This could "obscure the driver's view and increase the risk of an accident".

In China it was about 200,000 vehicles.

According to an online statement by the Chinese market surveillance authority, almost 20,000 imported Model S cars and over 35,000 imported Model 3 cars are affected.

In addition, around 144,000 “Model 3” produced in China are also affected by the recall.

According to reports, the same security risks are involved as in the USA.
