The young Hispanic Dulce López disappeared more than two months ago in New York after suffering an emotional crisis.

After losing contact with her, her mother, Noemy Brinson, searched for her relentlessly, although on many occasions she feared receiving the worst news from her.

Lopez, who lived in the Bronx, survived the cold and snow, despite being turned away from shelters because she didn't have identification, according to her mother.

López lost contact with his family shortly after Thanksgiving.

In a call made on November 28, she was heard stressed and scared because she was having problems with a new boyfriend with whom she lived in a basement in the Bronx, according to the cited media.

Her mother said she reported her daughter missing two days after she lost contact with her.

With the search going nowhere, she decided to fly to New York on Dec. 19 after receiving Facebook messages from people telling her they had seen her daughter outside a store. 

"After touring Long Island, Queen, Bronx, Brooklyn... every night I prayed because I didn't know where I was," he said.

She spent weeks walking the streets of the Bronx, riding the subway looking for her daughter, and one person told her they had seen her on Broadway and 103rd Street in Manhattan.

And last week she heard that her daughter was on the train. 

Brinson and her daughter emigrated from Honduras many years ago.

They first lived in the Bronx and later in Longview, Texas.

Lopez moved back to the Bronx about a year ago after landing a job as a receptionist.

Finally, the night before he found her, he prayed "until three in the morning."

And this Monday López called her mother from the home of the Honduran family.

"I didn't know he was looking for her," Brinson recounted.

López told her mother that she was afraid that her boyfriend would find her, according to the cited media.

In fact, she saw flyers with her face on it and thought it was her boyfriend looking for her.
