American actor Bob Saget died of head trauma, family announces

Saget, 65, was found dead on January 9 in his room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando hotel in Florida.

“Authorities have determined that Bob passed away from head trauma.

They concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, didn't pay attention to it and went to sleep," the comedian's family said in a statement.

"He had nothing to do with drugs or alcohol."

The medical examiner did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday, but said earlier there was no evidence of drug use or suspicion of any crime.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office had said the same thing.
