Coalition Criticism: "The Economic Plan Should Take Care of the Weak" | Israel today

2022-02-10T09:04:55.623Z

The chairman of the economics committee, MK Michael Bitton, was interviewed by 103FM and criticized the program presented by Bennett and Lieberman: "Small and medium-sized businesses must also be helped, which is not reflected in the new program." Against its coalition partners: "The plan is not what needs to be done today to address the cost of living"

The chairman of the Economics Committee, Michael Bitton, was interviewed today (Thursday) by 103FM and criticized the plan to lower the cost of living presented yesterday by his coalition members, Prime Minister Bennett and Finance Minister Lieberman.

MK Bitton said: “Ultimately the tax benefits and afternoons - it helps a very particular group.

According to the examples of the Ministry of Finance - if a single parent with a child in the afternoon receives NIS 2,500, but if her children are aged 9-8 or older - she will receive only NIS 1,200 from the state.

On the other hand, a family from Hod Hasharon who earns NIS 20,000-15,000 will receive NIS 5,300 in tax benefits.

You can change that. "

Bitton added that small and medium-sized businesses should also be helped, which is not reflected in the new plan.

"They were injured throughout the course of the corona, some also in the Omicron. It is impossible to treat only the employees and not them."

He also stressed that his remarks were made in the opinion of his party's chairman, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz.

Another criticism from the coalition against the economic plan came from MK Naama Lazimi of the Labor Party, who was interviewed by 103FM: "The plan is not what needs to be done today to address the cost of living.

The cost of living is a consequence of 20 years, not from today, and this is one of the biggest problems in the country.

"A couple earning the minimum wage probably lives in poverty. This is unthinkable. Wages in the economy are eroding."
