The novelist Eugenie Rizk signed her second novel, "April", in which she collected patriotism, the suffering of immigrants, women's issues and various other topics.
The signature, which was hosted by the Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh, came after a symposium in which a number of novelists and critics participated, in which they explained the importance of the novel and its features.
Rizk explained that what prompted her to write this novel is her feeling and belief that women need love, tenderness and attention and a desire to discuss women's affairs in their social life and at work and how to get out of their crises such as searching for oneself, noting that she followed a realistic and spatial narrative language through Multiple places and dates.
The storyteller Riad Tabra saw that the novel is a new station in the modern and contemporary narrative, which is characterized by an increase in the writer's awareness and carrying a message to the other, pointing out that the novel does not enter the world of fantasy because its characters were of flesh and blood and from social strata we know and lived with.
Tabra described the novel as an integrated text because of the huge amount of romance presented by Rizk in a beautiful and gentle language. As for the war, it is present in the novel, but it was not within the structure of the work, but rather described it from the outside because the fate of the people in the novel is what preoccupied the writer.
The novelist Ayman Al-Hassan explained that Nissan is characterized by the writer's ability to multiply characters by diversifying the pronouns from the absent to the speaker, pointing to her boldness in recounting cases of love in the first person to finish her work with a message of love, while the language of the novel was good, striking and courteous, characterized by the use of wisdom.
Poet Ghanem Bou Hammoud, director of the house that published the novel, stated that “Nissan” is the second book published by Rizk after the novel “Al-Yasmeen Bracelet” and what prompted him to work with her again, her creative abilities, in addition to absorbing new and young talents, pointing out that Nissan has a work in which renewal and decoration carry the elements of attraction and pleasure. .
