The Directorate of Education in Daraa launched an initiative within the (My Strength is in my Education) campaign to encourage parents to enroll their children in schools designated for teaching the Class B curriculum.

The initiative included distributing and pasting leaflets in government departments and institutions, public parks and health centers, and the participation of children by carrying phrases with motivational phrases written on them, including “Category B curriculum, my way back to school.”

The Director of Daraa Education, Eng. Manhal Al-Amarin, told SANA reporter that the aim of the initiative launched by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with UNICEF is to return the dropouts to school, especially those who were prevented by the crisis years from completing their education, indicating that the “B” curriculum is based on a two-year rule, which shortens the process of integrating Dropouts with their peers.

Head of the Curricula Department in the Directorate, Areej Al-Miqdad, stated that the campaign includes 7 schools at the governorate level and attracts students from 8 to 15 years old according to four levels.

In Al-Hasakah, the Director of Education, Ilham Surkhan, announced the implementation of an initiative that included the distribution of awareness brochures by a group of students in the city center of Al-Hasakah to urge parents to enroll their children in schools designated for teaching the “B” curriculum.

Surkhan indicated that the directorate has identified 8 schools in the cities of Hasaka and Qamishli to teach Curriculum B, calling on parents to review these schools to register their children before the deadline expires on the fifteenth of this month.

In Palmyra, those concerned with the educational sector explained to the parents of students in the city’s schools who wish to return to school seats the curriculum of category (B), which aims to deliver education to all children who dropped out of their schools in Palmyra and its desert as a result of their displacement by the terrorist organization “ISIS”.

The director of the King Uthaina School, Safia Al-Yaseen, stressed to SANA reporter the need to pay attention to the curriculum for category (B) and to develop the student's personality building in order to achieve learning for each child.

Hanan Shoman expressed her happiness for her children's return to school to complete their education after being deprived of it for years because of the terrorists, stressing that their enrollment in school and continuing their education again encourages them to settle in the city, especially with the availability of security in the area.
