Moosburg's train station needs to be renovated.

But despite the municipal purchase of the building, it is only enough for cosmetic repairs for the time being.

At least cyclists can look forward to it.

Moosburg

- With the purchase of the station, the city of Moosburg wanted to take structural improvements into their own hands, but so far not much has happened.

The local CSU now took this as an opportunity to apply for at least the painting of the facade.

The city council actually wanted to decide whether the station should be completely renovated or replaced by a new building.

Mayor Josef Dollinger (FW) recalled the negotiations that had been conducted with a planning office last year.

The potential partner then canceled because they did not want to accept a maximum investment amount.

Dollinger said clearly "that we're tearing something and don't want to sit it out".

The city is currently looking for a new planning partner.

"Extremely unsatisfactory condition"

"The station is in an extremely unsatisfactory condition," complained Johannes Becher (Greens).

He had linked the city's purchase with the hope that something would happen in the near future.

Ludwig Kieninger (FW) made a similar statement, pointing out that shortly before major measures are taken, no more money is actually put into a building.

His approval of the CSU application gave a deep look: "But next year nothing will happen."

The deputy CSU parliamentary group spokesman, Erwin Weber, recalled in the application that he had submitted the application to purchase the station almost exactly four years ago.

"Unfortunately, a reliable result cannot be expected in the foreseeable future," he wrote about the list of renovation and replacement building desired by the city council.

He therefore called for the building to be repainted in the original color on the occasion of the 1250th anniversary.

The administration estimated the cost of such an order at around 25,000 euros.

That exceeds the 10,000 euros budgeted for maintenance work at the station.

The motion was nevertheless accepted unanimously.

Medical center in the train station or over the tracks?

AfD application receives rebuff

Moosburg would like to set up a medical center, but opinions differ widely on a potential location.

Gerhard-Michael Welter (AfD), as city councilor, had now submitted the application to locate the doctors at the train station - and received a classic rebuff with a vote of 20:1.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Welter argued in favor of the urban areas at the train station with the good accessibility and good proximity to the city center.

He could imagine the realization with a three-storey station building and alternatively brought up a building over the railway tracks.

"It is clear to us that this is not possible," Mayor Josef Dollinger (FW) replied.

His building management had not seen any opportunities, and there is no free building space in the surrounding area on the fully developed urban areas.

"It's illusory," said Johannes Becher (Greens), "if we insist on something like that, then we won't build anything for the next 100 years." Martin Pschorr (SPD) brought up the real purpose of the property: one should Recognize the station as a station in the future.” Ultimately, Welter alone voted in favor of his proposal.

New bike racks planned in car parks

According to the city administration, the existing bicycle parking spaces at Moosburg train station are no longer sufficient for the current or increasing need for parking spaces.

In order to cover both the demand and to create a comfortable offer, the existing bicycle racks have already been replaced with modern ADFC-certified systems.

In the next step, additional roofed, two-storey bicycle parking facilities are to be created, according to a message from the town hall.

For this purpose, around half of the existing free car park on the southern side of the station will now be converted.

The measure is funded by the Federal Environment Ministry.

Important note for car parkers

In order to be able to implement the construction work, the city of Moosburg asks that the parked vehicles be removed by Sunday, March 6th at the latest.
