The Bundestag changes its controversial convalescent regulation.
From next Monday, the recovered status will only apply in the plenary hall and the committee meetings for three and no longer six months, as the Bundestag administration informed the 736 MPs on Thursday.
The proof of a previous infection must therefore be provided by a PCR test.
Since January 14, people infected with the coronavirus in Germany have only been considered recovered three instead of six months after the illness.
So far, things have looked different in the plenary hall of the Bundestag.
The new rule initially applies until March 13
Despite the shortening of the recovered status for the citizens, the old deadline for access to the plenary session and the committees still applied in the Bundestag in the past week of the session.
This caused misunderstanding and criticism.
The new regulation should initially apply until March 13th.
A reduction in the status of those who have recovered in the plenary hall will probably hit AfD politicians in particular, as many of them refuse to provide information about their vaccination status or refuse the vaccination.
According to the current regulation, the 2G-plus rule applies in the plenary hall: Anyone who wants to take part in meetings in the Bundestag must be vaccinated twice or have recovered - and show a negative corona test.
Boosted and fully vaccinated convalescents may participate without current negative proof.
