Now it's final: the Department of Defense announced today (Thursday) that it will not be possible to hold the entire scheduled flight to Dubai starting Sunday. This means that tens of thousands of Israelis who purchased a flight ticket to Dubai will be left unanswered.
As you may recall, in an article published yesterday in "Israel Today", sources in the airlines stated that the move is mainly related to security issues.
The Ministry of Transportation stated: "The security issue is not the responsibility of the Ministry of Transportation. Our office is updated with the relevant factors and will act in accordance with the security guidelines of the bodies responsible for the issue."
The General Security Service stated: "The activity of Israeli airlines on the Israel-Dubai route has so far been made possible thanks to the arrangements reached by Israeli security officials with their counterparts in Dubai, according to Israeli security principles around the world."
