Sepp Gruber, boss of the "Wiesmühle", died at the age of only 52.

Glonn mourns the loss of someone who not only knew how to cook, but could also work with people.

Glonn

– "The most beautiful thing a person can leave behind is a smile on the face of those who think of them."

Josef Gruber, whom everyone just called Sepp, died at the age of 52.

The gap he leaves in his family, circle of friends and acquaintances is large.

Sepp Gruber died: He trained as a carpenter, his passion was cooking

Sepp Gruber was actually a trained carpenter, but his passion was cooking, and you could taste it.

He felt comfortable behind the stove between the pots and pans in the kitchen of the inn at Wiesmühle, which he and his wife Christl took over from their in-laws in 1995 and continued to run.

He worked a lot and enjoyed working with his wife.

The love he put into the joint restaurant could be felt in every little detail.

He was particularly pleased about the successful conversion of the winter garden in autumn 2019.

The landlord put his heart and soul into special quality in his kitchen, especially regionality was important to him.

The products he offered his guests mostly came from nearby.

From producers he knew well personally and with whom he always liked to chat.

Wiesmühle: The guests also came from further afield for the duck and the onion roast

His crispy duck was legendary, and the prospect of enjoying his roast onion made many a guest travel to Glonn from further afield.

Even in the time of Corona, the host did not give up, but was happy about the team spirit in Glonn and the many Fensterl guests who wanted to enjoy his good food even when it wasn't possible on site.

"It'll be fine," was his credo.

Sepp Gruber: Chatting with the guests and loving his family

The guests in the Wiesmühle also felt the optimism and passion for their job when Sepp Gruber sat down in the restaurant late at night after work and let the day end with friends and acquaintances.

On his days off, he and his wife liked to go hiking in the mountains, and you could even find them on the golf course.

In the week before his death he undertook a trip to Ghana with his Christl to get to know his son-in-law's family who lived there.

There he was able to enjoy his little granddaughter Rosalie to the fullest.

His family came first.

Sepp Gruber always wanted everyone to be well, his willingness to help is described as unique.

The Glonner leaves behind a wife Christl, his two daughters Maxi and Marina, son-in-law Fiifi and his granddaughter Rosalie.
