A 49-year-old female nursing home staff member was arrested today (10th) in Cheung Sha Wan on suspicion of child abuse at the "Tong Le Ju" under the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children. She is being detained for investigation for abuse or neglect of a child or juvenile in her care.
At present, the police have arrested 24 people in this case, and it is not ruled out that there will be more arrests.
A total of 39 children are currently involved in the case, all of whom have been sent to hospital for examination.

On December 22 last year, the police received a report from Tong Le Ju, claiming to have received a complaint from the public that a staff member abused children at the outdoor playground of the institution.
The police immediately launched an investigation, seized and reviewed CCTV footage, and found that some children were abused by staff members by beating their heads, pulling their hair, slapping them, knocking children to the ground, or "burying them in walls". They arrested 24 people, all of them. She is a nursery staff member.
