The members of a network of Albanian burglars, suspected of around 300 thefts in around ten departments, mainly in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, were indicted in Saint-Etienne, we learned on Friday February 11 from the police and judicial sources.

Three of these men aged 32 to 56 were indicted for aggravated theft in an organized gang and imprisoned Friday evening in the prisons of La Talaudière (Loire), Lyon-Corbas and Villefranche-sur-Saône (Rhône).

Two others implicated for their participation in a small number of events were released under judicial supervision.

Following a road check carried out last summer in the Forez, a working group called "

SHKODER42

" set up by the gendarmes of the Lyon research section and the Loire gendarmerie group arrested five people , including a woman, Tuesday in Saint-Etienne.

The receiver is among the indicted of this criminal group presented by the investigators as "

very active, committing daily nocturnal burglaries in the presence of the occupants

".

They are suspected of more than 300 burglaries, around half of which were committed between July 2021 and January 2022, mainly in the Loire.

The facts were observed in a dozen departments, mainly in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, but also in the Jura and Côte-d'Or.

Searches have found stolen jewelry, as well as hi-fi and multimedia equipment representing part of the estimated 450,000 euros in damage.
