A 20-year-old man was killed today (Friday) in a serious car accident on Route 6 near the Lakia interchange.
In addition, three lightly injured people were evacuated to Soroka Hospital.
Adir Nachmani, a paramedic from the Rescue Union, said: "This is an accident involving two vehicles. Unfortunately, one of the vehicles was killed on the spot. We also provided first aid at the scene of the accident to four casualties. Traffic loads were created due to the nature of the accident."
A senior MDA paramedic, Amir Abu Siam, said: "This is a very serious car accident.
The wounded man who suffered a very severe multi-system injury was lying on the road at a great distance from the vehicles while unconscious.
We performed medical tests but he was without signs of life and we had no choice but to determine his death.
The three other wounded who walked around the scene were treated on the spot and evacuated to a hospital when their condition was mild. "
