The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, reiterated that the end of the acute phase of the Corona pandemic depends on the vaccination of the majority of the world's population during the first six months of this year.
Agence France-Presse quoted Ghebreyesus as saying during a visit to a vaccine factory in South Africa today: We count on the end of the acute phase of the pandemic this year, provided that 70 percent of the world's population is vaccinated by the middle of the year.
Ghebreyesus had confirmed earlier that the end of the Corona pandemic requires that all countries achieve through joint action until mid-2022 the global goal of vaccinating 70 percent of the world's population and that governments continue to conduct examinations, follow-up and provide information on copies of the virus without fears of being exposed to any accusations.
