Police suspect: The brother of the young man arrested on suspicion of causing the death of a young woman - is the offending driver
The youngest to whom the accident in which officer Amit Itach was killed was attributed was 26-year-old Nasser Aslan.
Now his 30-year-old brother, a lawyer by profession, is suspected of the offending driver - but he is missing.
The father of the two, Faisal "the Great" Aslan, a well-known businessman, was arrested on suspicion that he knew where his son was hiding.

Police suspect that the young man who was arrested because he hit the vehicle in which the IDF officer, Lt. Amit Itach, was driving and caused her death - was not the driver of the vehicle, but his brother. He is thought to have fled the scene after an accident near Moshav Yaara in which two other soldiers were injured.
The detainee was left behind bars on suspicion of aiding the escape and disrupting the investigation. Their parents, who live in Nahariya, were also questioned by police, and the father, 55-year-old businessman Faisal Aslan, who owns the "Big Faisal" market in the city, was arrested on suspicion of disappearing.

"This is one family with one agenda that does not reconcile with common sense and prefers that three be detained while trying to help an accident suspect escape," police accident investigators claimed today in court.
Attorneys Shlomi Sharon and Moshe Gilad, representing the suspect, appealed the father's arrest to the city's district court, which granted them and released him under house arrest.
Police are continuing their attempt to locate the driver.

The response of attorneys Moshe Gilad and Shlomi Sharon: "First, we send our condolences to the family of the deceased. Second, in our opinion this is a reasonable and balanced decision of the Honorable Justice Salameh who decided to release the father unrelated to the accident itself after hearing our claims."
