In Zellingen (Main-Spessart), telephone scammers cheated a woman out of a large sum of money with a perfidious scam.
The police is now looking for witnesses.
Zellingen – Telephone fraudsters have captured a large amount of money in Zellingen (Main-Spessart* district).
During the course of Thursday, scammers had "terrified and terrified a mother and claimed that her son had killed a woman." The police said.
The callers demanded cash to avoid jail time.
Ultimately, a large sum of money was handed over to an unknown collector.
The police are investigating and are asking for tips.

According to the press release, a caller initially identified himself as the woman's son.
He had cried claiming to have caused a fatal traffic accident.
The call was handed over to a fake police officer and a fake prosecutor.
They demanded a five-digit sum of money to avert a prison sentence.
The woman had no idea that she had been taken in by scammers and packed a large amount in an envelope.
At around 3 p.m., she handed it over to an unknown collector who disappeared with his loot in the area of Würzburger Straße.

Telephone fraud in Lower Franconia: the police are asking for information
The criminal police in Würzburg * has now taken over the further investigations in the case and is now hoping for witnesses.
The police ask: "Anyone who may have observed the money handover on Thursday afternoon or who can provide other relevant information that could help clarify the case is urgently asked to contact the Würzburg criminal police on Tel. (0931) 45 71 73 2 to set.”
