The United States announced its intention to send 3,000 additional soldiers to Poland in the coming days as part of its buildup in Eastern Europe under the pretext of allegations it is promoting about a possible Russian intervention against Ukraine.

Reuters quoted US officials as saying today that the American forces that will be deployed in Poland will be from the 82nd Airborne Division and not from the American forces in Europe, explaining that these forces will be added to the forces already ready to deploy in Europe.

Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, confirmed yesterday that the lie of the Russian threat to Ukraine is a pretext that allows the West to increase its military presence in Russia's neighboring countries, pointing out that the threat of sanctions and Western hostile rhetoric are exacerbating the situation and worsening the atmosphere of dialogue on security.
