After deliberating late into the night, the Val-d'Oise Assize Court sentenced a woman tried for the murder of her companion in May 2019 to 12 years in prison, in the presence of the victim's eldest son.

At the end of a very intense three-day trial, Kalizatou S., 32, was found guilty of the murder of her companion by a stab wound near the neck following yet another night-time argument fueled by the alcohol and drugs that ended in the early morning.
The verdict "
takes into account the tragedy experienced by this family and my client hopes that this will bring them some comfort
", reacted to AFP the lawyer for the accused Me Anne-Chantal Crespy.
Me Christian Gallon, lawyer for the couple's two young children, welcomed a "
fair
" decision to AFP when he had called during his pleading Thursday, February 10, for "
justice that preserves the balance and the future children
”.
When help arrived, she tried to save him.
The 12-year prison sentence, accompanied by socio-judicial follow-up, is less than the 14 years required by the Advocate General.

The young woman claimed to have wanted to “

Victim Anthony B., 35, had four children, two of whom were from a first bed.
The argument on the evening of the tragedy concerned the return of one of them to the couple's home, after having been removed by social services to protect him from the violence of the spouses.
Kalizatou S. comes from a “
traditional
” family of Malian origin, third in a family of 15 children;
Anthony B. comes from a family of travellers.
They were in a civil partnership and had married religiously after the spouse's conversion to Islam at the end of 2016.
