Today, Iraqi forces launched extensive search operations in separate areas in Basra Governorate, southern Iraq.
And the Basra Operations Command stated in a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency, conscious that the security forces, with the support of the army’s aviation, began extensive search operations that included the areas of Al-Khaysat, Al-Dair and Al-Dabouni marshes within the northern sector of Basra Governorate, as well as the neighborhoods and areas of Al-Zubayr district to search for wanted persons and confiscate unlicensed weapons.
The statement added that the security forces managed during the operation to confiscate light and medium weapons, in addition to quantities of various materiel, and arrested a number of wanted persons according to judicial notes, and they were referred to the competent authorities.
