Despite the Munich allowance and apartments as an incentive: Neubiberg has a problem in providing the sufficient number of childcare places with sufficient staff.

As explained by the municipal administration at the most recent meeting of the cultural and social committee, there are currently up to ten vacancies for childcare workers.

According to the municipality, there is still a lot that can be done before the start of the new kindergarten year in September.

But Neubiberg's head of public order, Fabian Sass, still expects an "exciting kindergarten year", especially for the parents.

The municipality is already placing extensive job advertisements, such as in its own municipal newspaper.

But the market is known to be empty.

Municipality offers financial incentive

Neubiberg comes up with a number of ideas: in addition to the Munich allowance, the municipality also offers comparatively cheap municipal housing.

"But we need even more larger and affordable apartments to increase the incentives for skilled workers to move here," says Sass.

After all, the committee expressed the clear will to remain child-friendly as a community and to "help where you can".

Above all, according to Sass, it is important to discuss the latent lack of personnel in this sector at a higher municipal level and also to discuss it with other district communities.

After all, it cannot be the case that people compete for the scarce labor force.

Staff satisfaction should be queried

At the suggestion of the Greens and their local councilor Carola Pfeiffer, the administration should also draw up a list on which the satisfaction of the current employees in the facilities should be queried.

Not that the list of vacancies will get any longer until autumn.
