As-Suwayda-Sana
The branch of the Syrian Trade Corporation in As-Suwayda rented 3 tons of citrus fruits and 2.5 tons of tomatoes and started offering them in the city hall for vegetables and fruits.
In statements to SANA’s messenger, Rabie Ghanem, the director of the Foundation’s branch, stated that the quantities rented are from Tartous governorate and are sold for tomatoes of the first variety at a price of 1900 Syrian pounds, and for citrus fruits at prices per kilo, the first type of Abu Surra is 800 pounds, and the second type is 600 pounds.
For his part, Director of the City Hall for Vegetables and Fruits, Iyad Al-Shamas, pointed out that the importation of tomatoes and citrus fruits was also accompanied by quantities of zucchini, eggplant, peppers, cucumbers, lemons and grapefruit, stressing the continuation of the importation during the coming days.
Earlier during the current season, the branch of the Syrian Trade Corporation in As-Suwayda had rented more than 80 tons of citrus from the governorates of Lattakia and Tartous.
