The president of the LREM group in the National Assembly Christophe Castaner said this Sunday that he had no doubts about the close candidacy of Emmanuel Macron, adding that his project will first be to carry out the reforms planned but not implemented, such as that of pensions.
“I have no doubt that he is a candidate, he will be a candidate” but “it will be up to him to say it”, declared Christophe Castaner on BFMTV, sticking to a deadline of “several days or several weeks”.
The “new project is first of all to carry out the major reforms that we have not succeeded in making during this five-year term”, underlined the deputy of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, starting with the pension reform.
Purchasing power, "priority" of the five-year term
We must “save the pension system today, it is totally in deficit, there is a serious situation, so we cannot close our eyes”, hammered Christophe Castaner.
School, salary improvement, real estate... "I think that we must also go further in the very organization of the health block and we must free doctors from a certain number of administrative acts".
"There is like that a whole series of subjects on which we have repaired France (...) I am convinced, and I do not necessarily know, at the present moment, on which themes, on which the President of the Republic will also focus necessary breaks in the bad habits of our country".
On the purchasing power side, the main concern of the French at a time when energy prices are soaring and fueling the anti-Macron and anti-pass convoys, Christophe Castaner estimated that it was "already the priority" of the five-year term.
“If the government had not acted as we have acted, on the question of energies in particular, we would be on gas bills, on electricity bills, with spectacular increase in costs.
We have put in place both direct aid with the energy check or the inflation allowance, we have put in place direct measures to protect the French”, he justifies.
But this must be one of the subjects of action for the “next five-year term”, advances the president of the LREM group in the National Assembly.
