Since Russia invaded the Crimea in 2014, we know what kind of neighbor we have.

My name is Alexei, I am 31 years old, married and a father of two children.
I am currently from the Kiev region, and live about two kilometers from the city.
I have a small business - a language club - and I also work as an interpreter.

And we understand that our people and the values we are trying to promote pose an existential danger to the Kremlin regime, to the Russian government - because they are establishing an authoritarian regime there, and here we are trying to go in a different direction: we are developing our democratic institutions.

People do not panic, of course there is a certain level of tension and worry because of what we see on TV, but in general the situation has been like this for many years and Russia has already attacked us.
So in 2015-2014 when they did it [invaded the Crimea], they did not announce it, so we think right now maybe it's kind of a bluff - they want us to give up, give up our way, but I do not think we will do it.
There are no shelters where I live, and we do not store food.

From what I see around me - people do not leave, people do not run away, they go into different types of defense forces - to be prepared.
So, in general, the situation here inside may look different from what might be shown on TV these days.
