Residents of the locality of Omar today (Sunday) blocked the way of ambulances that transported Corona patients to a geriatric institution in the locality.

This, after the Ministry of Health began to transfer corona patients to an institution following the burdens on the hospitals.

The Ministry of Health contacted the police, while the residents claim that the compound to which they blocked the access of ambulances, located in the Ganei Omer neighborhood, is intended for an adult population, which they defended throughout the Corona period.

Following the burdens on general hospitals, the Ministry of Health has decided to transfer corona patients to geriatric hospitals near the patient's place of residence.

In the last two years the complex has received few guests, who enter only after the result of a negative corona test.

Inside the compound there is a geriatric hospital called 'Beit Balav' of the Maccabi Health Fund, and the Ministry of Health claims that the entrance to the corona ward is separate from the rest of the compound so the risk of infection is very low, but Omar residents claim they are still afraid of infection.

For the time being, one of the ambulances made its way back to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva, after being blocked its way into the compound.

Director General of the Ministry of Health Prof. Nachman Ash and Projector Korna Professor Salman Zarka tried to speak to the heart of Council Chairman Omar Pini Badash, who would allow ambulances to enter but he refused. Badash explained to Walla !:

The Ministry of Health decided to turn this place into Corona Hospital after we decided to keep them.

No one there is a resident of Omar. "

The Ministry of Health's headquarters for the fight against the Corona virus stated: "The conduct of the residents of Ganei Omer, which blocks the entry of ambulances into the compound and prevents treatment of Corona patients, is unreasonable and life-threatening. Residents of the south, and not just locals, and there is no substitute for the entire area.

It should be emphasized that there is a separation between the entrance to the Ganei Omer complex and the entrance to the geriatric hospital, and therefore the claim of danger of infection is unfounded.

The Ministry of Health contacted the police to prevent anyone trying to bully the entry of ambulances and the treatment of corona patients. "

Beit Balav from Maccabi stated: "The Ministry of Health is responsible for opening the corona ward on the spot. The opening of corona wards around the country is the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, and we carry out its policy in the field. "Such a disturbance could endanger human life."
