The spokesman pointed out that the FEHD has always been concerned about the hygiene conditions of public markets. Apart from routine cleaning during the day, market management service contractors will conduct thorough cleaning in all markets every day after the markets are closed.
With the assistance of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, the FEHD has completed a review of the ventilation capacity of its markets last year and installed air purification equipment as needed. It is now following up the installation of ultraviolet UVC disinfection devices on escalator handrails in its markets.
The FEHD will continue to closely monitor the situation in various markets and conduct deep cleaning and disinfection work in other markets when necessary to maintain environmental hygiene.
