One person was killed and at least 10 others injured in the collision between two local trains on Monday (February 14th) near Munich in southern Germany, police said.

The two trains collided in the late afternoon in the area of Ebenhausen-Schäftlarn station, south of the Bavarian capital.

”, more than 10, a Munich police spokesman told AFP.
The cause of the accident is not known at this stage, according to the police.
The two commuter trains apparently collided head-on where the line was single-track, according to media reports.
More than 200 emergency personnel were on site in the early evening, police said.
According to the daily Bild, around 100 passengers, including schoolchildren, were traveling on the two trains.
A local radio reported that two trains had already nearly collided in the same area last August, but the drivers were able to brake in time.
