The Greens party members voted by post: who will be the new leaders?

The result will be available shortly.

Berlin - The result of the postal vote is certain - only it is not yet known: The party members of the Greens have voted on the new chairmen.

At a press conference today, the Greens want to announce whether the designated party leaders have made it.

The duo Ricarda Lang and Omid Nouripour stood for election.

The two had already been elected by the delegates on January 29, but their election had to be confirmed by postal vote.

Ricarda Lang is the women's policy spokeswoman for the Greens, previously she was spokeswoman for the Green Youth.

She comes from Baden-Württemberg and is 28 years old.

46-year-old Omid Nouripour is originally from Iran.

He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2006.

Dual leadership in the Greens: predecessors of Lang/Nouripour were Baerbock/Habeck

The Greens have long been led by a dual leadership of women and men.

After the last federal election, the previous leadership duo Annalena Baerbock and Robert Habeck made their offices available.

Annalena Baerbock is now foreign minister and Robert Habeck heads the economics ministry.
