The presidential election is far from exciting the French.
The latest BVA poll reveals that less than one in two French people is able to give the exact date of the first round (43%).
Only 26% of people questioned and registered on the electoral lists are able to give the exact date of April 10.

the month of April
” with the wrong day or without giving details.

While the electoral campaign is struggling to take off, and the favorite in the polls, Emmanuel Macron, is not yet an official candidate, this survey underlines that only 69% of French people registered on the electoral lists say they are currently interested in the election, i.e. a fall of 4 points in two weeks.
In addition, 70% of those questioned announce their intention to vote in the first round.
A figure lower than the same period in 2017 (74%).
Although the presidential election is the one that mobilizes voters the most, abstention reached 28.4% in the first round of the 2002 presidential election. In 2017, 77.7% of French people of voting age took take part in the vote.

The campaign is well and truly launched, however, as the collection of sponsorships for the candidates began on January 27 and will last until March 4.
Until then, it is still possible to register on the electoral lists in order to be able to vote.
