People's Assembly Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh affirmed that the occupied Syrian Arab Golan will remain a Syrian of passion and identity, indicating that victory over the Zionist entity and the liberation of the occupied Golan will inevitably come thanks to the steadfastness of Syria's people, army and leadership.
In his speech before the People’s Assembly on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the comprehensive national strike in the occupied Syrian Golan, at the session held today, Sabbagh noted the steadfastness of our people in the occupied Golan and their adherence to their right to their land and their rejection of all practices of the brutal Zionist entity, addressing a salute of pride and pride for them and the steadfast Syrian people.
In their interventions, a number of council members demanded the international community to reject the decision of the Israeli occupation authorities to annex the occupied Golan, stressing that the crimes of the Israeli occupation against our people in the occupied Golan will not deter them from continuing the resistance and adherence to the Syrian Arab identity and belonging to the motherland Syria.
The council then discussed the performance of the Ministry of Industry and issues related to its work, where the Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh gave a presentation on the ministry’s plan for the current year and what has been implemented of it, indicating that a number of destroyed industrial facilities have been identified to be presented in accordance with the investment law on partnership with the national private sector and companies of sisterly and friendly countries that Its ownership remains with the public sector, as a number of investors submitted 12 offers to invest 8 of the 38 destroyed facilities, and these offers are currently under study.
According to Minister Sabbagh, the ministry is working in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform to restart agricultural manufacturing facilities that depend, for example, on the sugar beet crop for the Tal Salhab sugar factory and cotton for the gins. Some members called for increasing the support provided to the directorates of industry in the governorates, supporting water plants, and transferring industrial plants located within the organizational scheme in Homs to Hasya Industrial City, focusing on pharmaceutical industries and investing in this field, and installing filters for cement and fertilizer plants to reduce pollution. In his response to the members’ interventions, Minister Sabbagh indicated that there is a study to invest the property of Tamico Company located in the industrial city of Umm al-Zaytoun in As-Suwayda and Maliha in the countryside of Damascus, and the Serum Factory in Aleppo, whether through partnership or securing credits for its operation in the manufacture of medicines, indicating that one of the most prominent problems that some factories suffer from What caused the production weakness was the difficulty of importing and securing appropriate parts, machinery, and raw materials.
Minister Sabbagh explained that the ministry is working to expand the products of public sector laboratories, such as the papyrus refrigerator factory and the Seronics company, which has begun producing alternative products such as regulator devices, in preparation for improving its products and re-launching the production of screens until electronic parts and all the necessary requirements for production are secured.
Regarding the rise in water prices, Minister Sabbagh said that the reason was the high costs of shipping, transportation and the costs of producing plastic granules, while the Golan unit was created to bottling mineral water in Quneitra Governorate, and offers are currently being invited to secure production lines in it, indicating that it was agreed with the Syrian Trade and the Military Social Institution on a full quotation. Produce water plants, raise their production capacity to the maximum, and store surplus products for the summer.
