Six Syrian female artists who bore the name (Ugarit artists) opened an exhibition in which they spread feminine luster in the corners of Gallery (Meshwar) in Damascus.

The exhibition included 33 paintings and sculptures crafted by the female artists (Amal Zayat - Sarab Al-Safadi - Ghada Haddad - Lina Deeb - Ola Hilal - Batoul Al-Mawardi - Yusra Muhammad) in methods that bear depth and human dimension and spread love and beauty that is embodied in the case of Syrian women as they carry beauty and peace.

Plastic artist Lina Deeb, Vice-President of the Union of Fine Artists, participated in modern works that bear nature and the ancient environment that reflect the tradition and originality. Which is characterized by her giving and her work, in addition to her role as a mother and educator, and her career work to support her family, and she devotes her time to creativity, although artistic work requires research to acquire culture and continuous work.

The opinion was shared by the plastic artist Ghada Haddad, who spoke about her three works that tell about the ancient Khan Asaad Pasha, which she implemented during her presence in a workshop that was held in Rabah in the fall of last year, in addition to two paintings she completed in the same workshop, and a deep connection between the past, civilization and the Syrian female appeared in her works.

Despite her participation in five small sculptures, the plastic artist Ola Hilal addressed issues of concern to reality and close to human situations through her works, in which love, sadness and abandonment were the most prominent feature of her harnessing the ores of antique bronze, artificial stone and cement in the service of her subjects to help her complete the artistic value of the work.

The plastic artist Batoul Mawardi, who joined the Ugarit artists about three years ago, saw that the mixing of specializations between the plastic artists constitutes an integrated “harmony” among them and positively reflects on their works, pointing to her participation in five paintings about nature belonging to the Impressionist school with a strong and bold touch and giving them privacy an attempt To highlight the richness and diversity of nature in Syria.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushouh, the Director of the Directorate of Fine Arts, Imad Kashout, and a group of people interested in the Syrian plastic scene.

It is noteworthy that a group of Ugarit women artists in formation and sculpture was founded in 2018 by women with special artistic experiences from various governorates with the aim of highlighting the role of artist women in Syrian society on the plastic scene, reviving the Syrian heritage and conveying a message that hope still exists.
