Celebrated on Monday February 14, Valentine's Day is always popular with young people.
Among 15-25 year olds, more than nine out of ten couples (92%) say they give their partner a gift on this occasion, according to an OpinionWay survey for Clearpay.
More than seven out of ten even claim to do so systematically or often.

The 18-20 year olds are the most likely to celebrate Valentine's Day
", specifies the study, since 65% of people in a relationship in this age category questioned say they offer a gift and 44% celebrate the feast of lovers.
Jewelry and clothing, the most offered gifts
Over the entire age group surveyed (15-25 years, called "generation Z"), the average budget for the purchase of the gift is 151 euros.

A relatively large sum for an age category whose purchasing power is lower than that of their elders (high school students, students, first-time employees, etc.)
", notes the study, carried out on behalf of the online split payment company Clearpay.
Unsurprisingly, the under 18s, the category with the least financial resources, allocate a much smaller budget on average.
More than one out of two respondents in this age group say they spend less than 50 euros.

Jewelery and fashion clothing/accessories topped the list of
best-sellers
(mentioned by 47% and 46% of respondents respectively).
Far ahead of beauty and cosmetic products (22%) and products related to leisure and culture (21%).
Then come high-tech (15%), decoration and flowers (14%), and travel (13%).
Survey carried out by OpinionWay for Clearpay with a sample of 523 people representative of the French population aged 15 to 25 (quota method). The interviews were conducted from January 26 to 28, 2022.
