On Valentine's Day today, men like to give presents to their sweethearts.
But what do they really want?
A couples therapist explains what makes women happy.
Munich - "Most women find it nice that the man can reserve a table or buy flowers on Valentine's Day," says couples therapist Sigrid Sonnenholzer.
"However, it is much more important to treat each other with care and to look after one another all year round." working relationship.

The biggest wish that women express: "They want to have the feeling that family is the number one priority in a man's life," says Sigrid Sonnenholzer.
"He should put his cell phone away at home and not be available non-stop for the company."
Munich: That's what women really want for Valentine's Day
Another point is emotional sympathy: "If the woman is lying flat with a headache, it doesn't help much if the man advises her to take a painkiller - she'll figure that out herself," explains Sonnenholzer.
"It would be important for him to specifically ask how he can help." And everyone likes to hear "I love you" from their partner.
"Especially men often assume that the woman knows that automatically."
Many women in long-term relationships also complain that they no longer receive compliments from their partners: "At some point it gnaws at their self-confidence." Once the worm has set in, a lack of sexuality is often an issue - often the men want more, the women only have little desire.
"Several studies show that couples in equal relationships also have more sex," explains the therapist.
Well, if that isn't an incentive for one or the other to invest a little more... Sigrid Sonnenholzer: "Especially men are often surprised how easy it actually is." Christina Meyer
Valentine's Day Poll: What Women Really Want
i love valentines day
This year we are planning a romantic dinner.
I always find flowers beautiful in a classic way.
I think it's important that Valentine's Day is also used to spend time together.
It doesn't have to be spectacular either – going for a walk is perfect.

In France, where I come from, Valentine's Day is taken very seriously.
What is important to me in a partnership is that you can laugh a lot together.
You should also be able to talk about everything and be spontaneous.

Poll: "I don't need Valentine's Day because my husband spoils me all year round"
Unfortunately, my husband passed away three years ago, so I no longer celebrate Valentine's Day.
But earlier we celebrated extensively.
We took the day off and did wellness.
I think it's important for your partner to show how important you are to them.

I don't need Valentine's Day because my husband treats me to flowers and gifts all year round - and vice versa.
Still, it's good to mark a day like this and remember that love and friendship shouldn't be taken for granted.
I wish for mutual respect, openness and a lot of humor in my partnership.

On Valentine's Day, even the biggest stuffed animal sometimes brings home a flower - but flowers are of course the prettiest without a reason before and after February 14th.
I look forward to Valentine's Day every year because it's my son's birthday.
Instead of romance, there's a party!

I wish for Valentine's Day that every day is Valentine's Day and that you think of each other every day.
I have today off and am spending the day with my grandchildren from London, whom I rarely see.
It's one of the most beautiful days!

For me, Valentine's Day is a day like any other.
In a relationship, you shouldn't just find time for each other on one particular day.
My boyfriend and I like to cook together or go to the thermal baths.
