A senior official delegation from Turkey will arrive in Israel this week, a joint statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the President's House said this morning (Tuesday).

This, as part of the preparations for President Yitzhak Herzog's planned visit to Turkey, and with the aim of discussing relations between the two countries.

The delegation will include the spokesman and senior adviser to Turkish President Ibrahim Kline, and Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Sadat Onal.

Meanwhile, the Turkish Sabah newspaper reported that Herzog will visit Turkey between March 9-10.

This is a special visit, the like of which has not taken place in Israel for several years.

Ibrahim Kline is the man closest to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and one of the most powerful people in Turkey.

He played a key role in resolving the crisis surrounding the arrest of the Oknin couple.
